China reformed value-added tax (VAT) by removing investment from the tax base in northeastern provinces in 2004, which is
a “natural experiment” of its tax system. Using difference-in-differences method, this paper for the first time investigates
the impact of VAT reform on China firms’ fixed asset investment, employment behavior, innovative activities, and productivity,
and furthermore discusses the impact of firm behavior on industrial structural upgrade and employment with a firm-level panel
data of large and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in China. We find that VAT reform significantly promotes firms’ fixed
asset investment, and increases firms’ capital-labor ratio and productivity; while enhancement of firms’ productivity is mainly
achieved by means of substituting labor with capital, rather than independent technology innovation; meanwhile, VAT reform
distinctly decreases employment. Our findings have essential policy implications on the extension of VAT reform in the entire

本文利用面板门槛回归模型,以对外开放程度作为门槛变量,探讨在不同发展阶段服务业发展水平同国民经济发展效率之间的相关性.结果发现,提高服务业就业比重能够产生稳健的外溢效用,其背后的渠道包括适应居民消费结构升级、提供就业岗位、与工农业形成互动等方面.在服务业发挥外溢效应过程中,对外开放起着显著的调节作用,而且发展对外贸易和利用外资对服务业发挥外溢效应的调节功能存在显著差别. 相似文献

本文采用2000年和2005年全部国有企业和规模以上非国有企业数据,考察该时期我国制造业的企业演化动态特征,分析微观层面上企业动态演化所引起的宏观就业变动。研究发现:(1)我国制造业企业更替较快,企业演化表现出高进入率、高退出率的动态特征;(2)进入企业的就业创造效应超过退出企业的就业丧失效应,保证了就业岗位的净增长;(3)新进入企业是近期我国就业增长的重要来源之一。从长远来看,一个行业的企业数不可能无限增加,因此,不可忽视存活企业的稳定成长。 相似文献

There is no doubt about the relevance of complaint management for customer retention. But complaint management-objectives
can only be achieved if complaints registered by the firm give a comprehensive view of the annoyances perceived by customers.
In fact, a considerable share of annoyed customers do not complain and many complaint articulations are not registered. Because
of these “unvoiced” and “hidden” complaints, registered complaints show only the tip of the “annoyance iceberg” leading to
misinterpretations and wrong allocation decisions. As a countermeasure, the concept of evidence-controlling is developed in

Participatory democracy is one of several conceptions of democracy which strives to create opportunities for all members of
a group to contribute to the decision making process. Recent developments in information technologies in general and Internet
technologies in particular are affecting the existing democratic mechanisms, hence enabling citizens and organizations to
participate widely, efficiently and transparently in the decision making process and, most importantly, to arrive at better
decisions faster, through negotiation. E-negotiation systems rely on such technologies to implement protocols ranging from
motion raising and voting to auctions, and to make them available on the web for general use. E-negotiation systems can be
used for political and societal decision making as well as business dealings within e-government and B2B settings. In order
for these systems to fulfill their promise of bringing decision making opportunities to all, we need a structured approach
and a configurable framework for designing, implementing and deploying them. The resulting systems should be web-based, easy
to use, affordable, traceable, reliable, secure, flexible, efficient, and open for integration with other systems. This paper
starts by examining leading research initiatives to devise such a framework and discussing the motivations behind them. We
then introduce several design requirements derived from the expectations of e-negotiation systems providers and users. We
argue that meeting these requirements fosters a more democratic and efficient decision making process. We also present our

This study examines the relationship of perceived automotive salesperson attributes and customer satisfaction behavior in the purchase experience leading to the patronage of a service department in an automotive dealership. Logistic regression analyses indicate that gender moderates the relationship of the perceived salesperson attributes and customer satisfaction as well as intentions for service department patronage. The model distinguishes users from non-users of the service department and does this better for females than for males. Finally, the paper concludes with a discussion of the managerial implications and directions for future research. 相似文献
